1. Equipment introduction:
The acoustic time difference flowmeter is based on the principle of flow velocity area method for flow measurement. When sound waves propagate in still water, they have a constant velocity. The propagation speed may vary with changes in water temperature, salinity, and sediment concentration, but it remains constant when the water flow conditions are constant. When propagating along the water flow, the actual propagation speed is the sum of the sound velocity and the water flow velocity; When propagating against water, the actual propagation speed is the difference between the sound velocity and the water flow velocity. There is a time difference between the propagation of sound waves in the upstream and downstream fixed points of the section, and measuring the time difference can determine the water flow velocity. Measuring water flow velocity using this method is called the "time difference method".
The acoustic time difference method flow measurement system consists of a set (or several sets) of acoustic transducers, a host, signal cables, and a power supply.
The acoustic transducer receives instructions from the current measurement controller to emit sound pulses, and transmits the received sound pulse signals to the current measurement controller. The flow controller collects the propagation time and water level data of sound pulses in water, calculates the average flow velocity of the water layer through the propagation time difference, and then combines the cross-sectional area and average flow velocity to obtain the cross-sectional flow rate. The acoustic transducer can be equipped with a water level sensor, which can simultaneously transmit the measured water level data to the host, and can also be connected to other water level gauges that meet the requirements.
2. Application direction:
Time difference flow meters can be used in various rivers and are better applied in channels and pipelines. When accurate automatic flow measurement is required on natural rivers, the use of such flow meters should be considered first. This method can also be used in tidal sections with turbulent flow and both positive and negative currents, and its practical application range is very wide.

4. Advantages and features of equipment:
◆ When the time difference method is used for speed measurement, it receives a strong sound wave signal emitted by another transducer, and the reception discrimination processing is correct;
♦ The time difference method directly measures the transmission time of sound pulses in water, which is relatively easy to accurately measure;
♦ The channel and flow measurement section of the time difference method intersect diagonally, crossing the entire section, resulting in more accurate flow measurement data;
♦ The host can be installed on walls, instrument boxes, and distribution boxes, with a protection level of IP65, suitable for most general sites;
♦ The transducer can be installed with water;
♦ Suitable for measuring flow velocity and flow rate at 45 degree angles in various rivers, channels, circular pipes, culverts, irregular sections, etc;
♦ Each independent intelligent measurement module ensures fast, accurate, and stable multi-channel measurement;
♦ The host is equipped with multiple interfaces that can be connected to various RTUs or liquid level meters and other devices;
