Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler

The Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) measures flow velocity based on the acoustic Doppler effect and is adaptable to a wide range of scenarios, fulfilling velocity and flow measurement requirements for rivers, reservoirs and other water bodies. It features low power consumption and automatic calibration, and supports layered velocity measurement to fit flow distribution monitoring across wide watersheds. The device can integrate various auxiliary sensors to acquire multi-dimensional data including water level and water temperature.

1. Product Introduction

The Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) measures water flow velocity based on the acoustic Doppler effect. Its transducer emits pulses of a fixed frequency. When these pulses hit suspended particles and other scatterers in the water, echo signals are generated and received by the ADCP. Suspended particles drift along with the water flow, which creates the Doppler effect — a frequency shift between the transmitted signal and the received echo. The flow velocity at each measuring point is calculated by measuring this Doppler frequency shift.

2. Application Scenarios

Flow velocity measurement for rivers, reservoir sluices, underground sewer pipe networks, irrigation channels, etc.; Auxiliary water treatment monitoring, including urban water supply and sewage discharge monitoring for sponge cities; Flow metering and inflow/outflow volume monitoring.
